Install Bureau Writer on your Mac.
A short guide to opening the app the first time.
Before you start
Bureau Writer 0.20.1 is for Macs with Apple silicon running macOS 11 or later. It is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID, so macOS asks you to confirm it the first time you open it. These steps take about a minute.
Install
- Download the disk image.Get Bureau-Writer-0.20.1-macOS-arm64.dmg (22.8 MB).
- Check it, if you like.In Terminal, run
shasum -a 256followed by the file name. The result should match the SHA-256 on the Writer page. - Drag it to Applications.Open the disk image and drag Bureau Writer onto the Applications folder.
- Open it once.Open Bureau Writer from Applications. macOS says it cannot verify the app. Choose Done.
- Allow it.Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security. Scroll down to the Security section, choose Open Anyway beside the message about Bureau Writer, and confirm.
- Open it again.Bureau Writer now opens, and keeps opening normally.
Why this happens. macOS shows this message for any app that is not signed with an Apple Developer ID. It does not mean the file is damaged. Compare the SHA-256 above to be sure you have the file we published.
