FORTITUDE NORTH

Bureau Foundations In development

The relay carries your meeting. It can’t hear it.

Audio, video, screen sharing and chat for the people you invite, through a relay your organization runs. Every stream is encrypted with keys from your own certificate authority.

  • Clear audio
  • Video and screen share
  • Chat beside the call
  • End to end encrypted

Talk, see, share, write.

Clear audio

Everyone in the room hears everyone else, on the open Opus codec, mixed on your own computer.

Video that follows your connection

Camera video in a tiled grid. On a weak link the picture steps down instead of freezing.

Share what you’re working on

Present a window or the whole display, tuned for sharp text rather than motion.

Chat beside the call

Messages reach everyone in the order they were sent, and a dropped connection rejoins as itself.

In charge of the room

Hosts and co-hosts mute one person or everyone, remove a participant and hand the host role on. If the host leaves, the next person takes over.

Raise a hand

Participants raise a hand and the host sees the queue in the order it formed.

Built to be run by you.

A relay you run

Meeting runs on one program that your organization operates, on a server in your own network or data centre. People on the same network connect straight to each other’s room. People elsewhere connect through the relay’s address, including through firewalls that allow only encrypted web traffic. Fortitude North operates nothing in the path.

Each participant’s audio and video is encrypted on their own computer, with keys that come from your organization’s certificate authority. The relay forwards ciphertext. Anyone holding the relay’s disks, or its administrator account, has nothing to listen to.

Send an invitation by any channel you already use. Whoever holds it joins the room. Nobody creates an account.

  • Join by invitation, no account
  • Relay run by your organization
  • Keys from your certificate authority

Questions

Do participants need accounts?

No. An invitation is enough to join.

Where does the relay run?

On a server you control: inside your network, in your data centre, or on a rented machine you administer. It needs one reachable address.

Can the relay’s operator listen to a meeting?

No. Media is encrypted on each participant’s computer before it leaves, and the relay holds no key.

Does it work through a corporate firewall?

Yes. Where only encrypted web traffic gets out, participants connect to the relay over it.

Which operating systems?

Windows, macOS and Linux.

How do we start?

Request a demonstration. We set up a relay and a room with you, and run a meeting between your offices.
